This fanlight is situated above the entrance doors of a day care centre which serves the local community. The centre was built on the site of the former parish school which now occupies a new building across the road. The window was commissioned to mark the school's centenary and is a celebration of the history, lore and legend of the parish of Stenness. Many of those who use the day centre are elderly and enjoy identifying places and events from generations ago, making the window a great conversation piece.
