This stained glass fanlight was once part of the facade of a noteworthy victorian building in the merchant's quarter which became derelict after being gutted by a major fire in the 1980's. It lay broken and neglected in storage for years until the building underwent a complete program of refurbishment in 2008. Very little of the original clear backround glass was intact,but the majority of the coloured glass survived and the remainder was matched where possible with reclaimed salvage glass from that period.
